Pros and Cons

Pros

CCANW was able to continue displaying exhibitions, albeit in a foyer/café area, in return for a reduced rent. Theoretically, we should have had good opportunities to connect with several University faculties.

Cons

A major setback was Dom Jinks leaving the University in 2014 to take up a post in Plymouth. Had he not left, we would have worked closely together to develop mutually advantageous initiatives. Dom returned as Head of Exeter Culture in January 2018 and his role was then taken on by the University in 2019 as Head of Creative Places. As a result, CCANW found itself ‘a very small fish swimming in a large pond’ in the period 2013-15.
