8 – 19 October 2011 Active Ingredient

Active Ingredient, an artist collective worked in collaboration with scientists and researchers across the UK and Brazil to create A Conversation Between Trees.

Spring 2007 Sean Hellman

Craftsman Sean Hellman worked with sections of the different tree species grown at Haldon to reveal the qualities of the wood within. He also worked on developing the ‘tree trail’, now a popular walk  at Haldon.

29 July – 13 August 2006 Heike Rindt

During her residency at Haldon in July/August 2006, Heike Rindt worked with a number of local artists and members of the public to create an alternative trail for walkers. The trace the place chase led visitors – with the aid of text-based clues – through a series of altered spaces in the forest.

27 May – 5 June 2006 Sam Mukumba

One of Sam Mukumba’s workshops in June 2006 involved casting a number of bowls from molten beeswax. Participants were asked to find a tree seedling growing in an unsuitable place – typically, a roof gutter or along a road – and replant it in a bowl.
